School of Graduate Studies Application Fee: $75
Fee waived for current Rutgers School of Graduate Studies students.
2023-24 Year Tuition
- $826 per credit NJ resident
- $1,405 per credit out of state resident
- Tuition cost depends on total credits students need.
- For full-time, degree-seeking students with no prior graduate course credits or prior supervised practice learning, 30 graduate credits are needed ($24,780 total in-state tuition, or about $12,390/year and $42,150 total out of state tuition, or about $21,075/year).
- The total credits required decrease when students enter the DI program with approved prior graduate course credits.

2023-24 Fees and Other Program Costs
Mandatory Fees
- Student Fee: $3,428 for 4 semesters ($857/semester)
- School Fee: $834 for 4 semesters ($208.50/semester)
- Technology Fee: $786 for 4 semesters ($196.50/semester)
- Off-Site Fee: $3,980 for 4 semesters ($995/semester)
- DI Program Fee: $9,000 (fall semester) + $9,000 (spring semester); the DI program fee is non-refundable.
Optional Fee

Health Insurance: $5,482 for 2 years ($2,741/year)
Students covered under another health care plan may be able to waive this fee; health insurance must be maintained for at least the duration of participation in this program.
Other Costs
- Criminal Background Check and Drug Testing: $250
- Travel to Rotation Sites: $1,500 for 2 years ($750/year)
- Supplies (e.g., books, lab coats, software): $1,500 for 2 years ($750/year)
- Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Membership Dues: $120 for 2 years ($60/year). Students must maintain membership at least until completing the program. Fee estimates are for 2 years.

- Merit-based aid such as fellowships, assistantships, and scholarships
- Need-based grants and employment
