Dietetics-ISPP

Overview

Our recently accredited Individualized Supervised Practice Pathway (ISPP) program is housed within the Department of Nutritional Sciences, School of Environmental and Biological Sciences at Rutgers University. Our ISPP program is designed to provide students with learning and practice opportunities to acquire the required competencies to prepare for the national registration examination to become a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN).

This program is open to those with a bacccalaureate or masters degree who did not match via D&D Digital to a dietetics internship. This program is also designed for those holding a doctorate who wish to complete the learning and practice opportunities needed to take the national registration examination to become an RDN; participation in the computerized match into a dietetic internship program is not required for doctoral students/doctoral degree holders. Students currently enrolled in a masters or a doctoral program, please contact me to discuss how to dovetail your current program with our program.

Our program consists of 30 credits of graduate coursework and at least 1,000 hours of dietetics supervised practice. Some of these may be waived for applicants with prior coursework or supervised practice experience. All program-related activities have the goal of developing the competencies needed to successfully complete the national RDN examination. Graduation dates may vary due to individual student needs. Up to 12 students will be accepted initially.
