Program Mission
Our mission is to provide graduate level education that incorporates the cutting-edge, evidence-based research knowledge and practice skills needed to prepare graduates to become competent entry-level registered dietitian nutritionists who serve the public in a variety of settings and promote health and prevent disease.
Program Goals and Objectives
Goal #1:
Program graduates will be entry-level registered dietitian nutritionists prepared to work in a variety of practice settings.
Objectives:
- At least 80% of program interns complete program requirements within 3 years (150% of the program length).
- Of graduates who seek employment, 75% are employed in nutrition and dietetics or related fields within 12 months of graduation.
- At least 75% of program graduates take CDR credentialing exam for registered dietitian nutritionists within 12 months of program completion.
- At least 70% of graduates who respond to a survey, will report they ‘agree’ or ‘strongly agree’ regarding their knowledge and skill preparation being adequate for entry-level practice in a variety of settings.
Goal #2:
Program graduates will be competent entry-level registered dietitian nutritionists prepared to service the needs of the public in promoting health and preventing disease.
Objectives:
- The program’s one-year pass rate (graduates who pass the registration exam within one year of first attempt) on the CDR credentialing exam for registered dietitian nutritionists is at least 80%.
- At least 75% of employers who respond to a survey on program graduates in their first year of employment report ‘agree’ or ‘strongly agree’ regarding the graduates’ knowledge and skill preparation being adequate for entry-level practice.
- At least 50% of all DI graduates who respond to a survey 12 months post-graduation, will report they have participated in one or more health promotion or professional service activity in the last year.
